Course overview
The Certificate IV in Disability Support is the step that takes you from delivering support to designing and leading it. Where the Certificate III qualifies you to provide care, the Certificate IV qualifies you to plan it, manage complexity, and supervise the people doing the work.
It has become the practical benchmark for team leader and coordinator roles inside NDIS providers. Positive behaviour support, individualised planning and risk management are the units employers ask about directly at interview, because they are the areas where an under-qualified team leader costs a provider money and compliance exposure.
Most people arrive here having already worked as a support worker. That is exactly the profile RPL suits: you have been running complex supports, contributing to plan reviews and mentoring newer staff for years, and you need the credential to be paid for it. We help you build the evidence portfolio that proves it.

Is this you?
Experienced support workers ready to lead, Certificate III holders looking for the next pay band, and people moving from another care sector into NDIS coordination.
Not sure you fit? Ring anyway. The most common thing Mahmoud hears is “I probably do not qualify” from someone who does. The session costs nothing and the answer is honest either way.

Questions we get asked
Not always as a formal prerequisite, but employers and assessors will expect demonstrated support experience. If you have been working in the sector, that experience often matters more than holding the Certificate III. If you are new to disability work entirely, we will usually steer you to the Certificate III first — it is the faster route to being employed.
No, and be cautious of anyone who tells you otherwise. NDIS behaviour support practitioner status is assessed separately by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission against its own capability framework. This qualification supports that direction and covers positive behaviour support practice, but it is not a substitute for Commission assessment.
If you have several years as a support worker with real responsibility — complex clients, plan input, mentoring juniors — a substantial portion is often recognisable. Evidence is what decides it: position descriptions, supervisor references, incident and reporting samples with client details removed, training records. We help you assemble that pack properly.
In practice it moves you from support worker rates into senior and team leader bands. Our clients commonly report moving from around $75,000 into six figures with responsibility loadings, though the actual figure depends on the provider, your award classification, shift pattern and location.
Yes, supervised placement is part of the qualification. If you are already employed in the sector, placement can often be completed in your current workplace with your employer's agreement, which removes the usual scheduling headache. We raise this with the RTO on your behalf.
Important. Certification Made Easy is not a Registered Training Organisation (RTO). We operate solely as a consulting agency, providing advisory and referral services to our clients through our trusted RTO partners.
Course codes, units and any licensing requirements are set by the training package and the relevant regulator, and change over time. Confirm current details with your RTO and, where a licence is involved, with the regulator in your state.
