The person behind the practice
Meet Mahmoud
Five years working inside Australian vocational education, across three colleges. Ten years in real estate before that. One consistent habit: telling people the truth about their pathway, even when it costs him the enrolment.

Verify it yourself. The colleges Mahmoud has worked in are named below rather than summarised as a number, and every RTO we refer to carries its provider code on our Partner RTOs page. Ask him for anything else you want to see — he would rather be checked than believed.
His story
Two careers, and the gap between them
Mahmoud came to vocational education the long way around. A Bachelor of Applied Science in Chemistry and an Advanced Diploma of Computer Engineering put him in technical and analytical work first. Then came ten years in real estate — a decade of dealing with regulators, compliance, contracts and, mostly, people making the largest decisions of their lives with incomplete information.
The last five years have been spent inside the vocational education system itself, working at three Australian colleges: My Skills College in Punchbowl, Australian City International College in Parramatta and Australian International Islamic College in Durack. That is where he learned how training packages are written, how units are assessed, what evidence an assessor will accept and what they will send straight back.
That is the gap Certification Made Easy exists to close. Most people who ring us are not confused about their skills. They are confused about the system: which qualification maps to the job they want, whether their experience counts, which regulator issues the licence, and who to believe among providers all promising the same thing.
Why he founded CME
Certification Made Easy was founded in Sydney in November 2022, after Mahmoud watched too many capable people pay for the wrong course. A carpenter enrolling in another trade certificate when what he needed was a Certificate IV to licence as a builder. A carer paying full price for units she could have had recognised. An overseas-trained tradesperson told he could have a licence in weeks, by someone who knew perfectly well he could not.
The first thing we work out is whether you should be spending money at all. Sometimes the answer is no, and you should hear that from us before you hear it from an assessor.
Because CME is a consultancy rather than a Registered Training Organisation, there is no in-house course to steer you toward. That independence is the entire point of the model: we are paid to get you to the right qualification through the right provider, not to fill a classroom.
How he works
Koori, who came to us for a Certificate III in Carpentry through RPL, described it best. He said Mahmoud has “a fatherly concern to make sure his clients make it to the end.” We would put it less warmly and more practically: the sign-up is the easy part, and the middle is where people quietly give up. So Mahmoud stays in the middle with you.
Koori. In his case that meant driving to the college with him and sitting through the paperwork until it was done properly.
Ramzi. Introductions to the right people for his air conditioning and refrigeration licence, and answering questions from first call to final certificate.
Allan. Preparing his evidence for the Certificate IV in Building and Construction thoroughly enough that his builder's licence application went in without a single question coming back.
Omar. Certificate III in Concreting, and then the licence that followed it. When the certificate itself stalled at the RTO, Mahmoud chased it until it was issued. Omar still rings to say thank you.
Mohammed. A Certificate IV in Plumbing and Drainage that had gone quiet. Mahmoud took over the follow-up, tracked the outstanding units and kept the file moving until it was finalised.
None of that is unusual here. It is simply what the fourth step of the CME Pathway Method means in practice.
What he will not do
- Promise a licence. Licences are issued by regulators — NSW Fair Trading, the NSW Police Force — not by consultants and not by RTOs.
- Tell you RPL will work when your evidence will not carry it.
- Sell you a qualification that does not support the outcome you actually want.
- Take an enrolment from someone he can see will not finish.
It is a shorter list of enrolments than it could be. It is also why clients send their friends and their cousins, which is where most of our work comes from.

Where the experience actually comes from
“Years of experience” is a claim nobody can check. So here is the record itself: the colleges, the qualifications and the industry behind the advice you will be given.
My Skills College
Punchbowl, NSW · Vocational education
Australian City International College
Parramatta, NSW · Vocational education
RTO 91779 — verify on training.gov.au
Australian International Islamic College
Durack, QLD · Vocational education
Bachelor of Applied Science
Chemistry. The analytical grounding behind how he reads a training package and maps evidence to units of competency.
Advanced Diploma of Computer Engineering
A second technical qualification, and first-hand experience of what completing an Australian qualification actually asks of a working adult.
Ten years in real estate
A decade of regulated, licensed, compliance-heavy work — and of guiding people through processes they only go through once.
To be clear about what this is and is not. Mahmoud is an education pathway consultant, not an assessor. He does not assess competence, does not deliver training and does not issue certificates — those are done by our partner RTOs and their qualified assessors, who are registered and audited for exactly that purpose. What his background buys you is knowing what an assessor will accept before you send it.
How Mahmoud works
The CME Pathway Method
Four steps, in the same order, whether you are chasing a builder's licence or a Certificate III in Individual Support.
Discover
We start with the job you actually want, not a course catalogue. Mahmoud maps your work history, overseas experience, existing tickets and any study you have done, then tells you what it is worth against a nationally recognised qualification.
Free pathway sessionAdvise
You get a straight answer on which of the three pathways fits — and if your evidence will not carry an RPL application, we say so. We also confirm the licence or registration your qualification needs to support, before any money changes hands.
RPL, gap training or full courseConnect
We place you with the partner Registered Training Organisation best suited to your qualification, your evidence and how you need to study. Different RTOs are strong in different areas; matching that properly is most of the job.
Matched to the right RTOSupport
This is the part most consultancies skip. We stay with you through the paperwork, chase what needs chasing, and keep going until the certificate is in your hand — including coming to the college with you when that is what it takes.

What clients say about working with him
Mahmouds advise on Sales Attitudinal Training was very helpful in both areas of customer service and sales work . Doing this course and achieving a Statement of Achievement helped me focus on my goals and achieve my top job. Highly recommended to change your life
I had the concreting experience but nothing on paper. Mahmoud placed me with the right college, helped me put the application together, and then chased them for months when the certificate got stuck. I have my Certificate III and my licence now. I still ring him to say thank you.
My course went quiet and I had no idea who to ring or what to even ask for. Mahmoud took over the follow-up with the RTO, worked out which units were still outstanding, and kept at it until everything was finalised. Without that I do not think it would have been finished. Very grateful.

- Whether Smart and Skilled or another funding route applies to you
- Which licence or registration sits behind the job, and who issues it
- A realistic timeframe — not an optimistic one
