Terms of Service
The terms on which we provide advisory and referral services. Please read section 3 in particular — it defines the limits of what any consultancy can promise.
These terms govern your use of this website and the services provided by Certification Made Easy (“CME”, “we”, “us”). By using this website or engaging our services, you agree to them.
1. Who we are
Certification Made Easy is an education and certification consultancy based in Sydney, NSW, Australia, founded in November 2022. We provide advisory and referral services to individuals and organisations seeking nationally recognised qualifications and trade licences.
2. Our services
We provide:
- Education pathway assessment and advice.
- Guidance on Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), gap training and full course options.
- Referral to partner Registered Training Organisations.
- Assistance in assembling evidence for RPL assessment.
- Guidance on trade licensing pathways and funding programmes including Smart and Skilled.
- Ongoing support through to completion of your qualification.
3. What we are not, and what we cannot guarantee
This section is the most important one on this page.
Certification Made Easy is not a Registered Training Organisation (RTO). We operate solely as a consulting agency, providing advisory and referral services to our clients through our trusted RTO partners.
It follows that:
- We do not deliver training. All training is delivered by partner RTOs registered to do so.
- We do not assess competence. Assessment, including RPL assessment, is conducted by the delivering RTO's qualified assessors.
- We do not issue qualifications. Certificates and statements of attainment are issued by the RTO.
- We cannot guarantee a qualification. Whether you are awarded one depends on the RTO's assessment of your evidence and competence.
- We cannot guarantee a licence. Licences are issued by government regulators — in NSW usually Fair Trading, and for security work the NSW Police Force — against their own requirements, which change over time. No consultancy can promise a licence, and you should treat any that does with suspicion.
- We cannot guarantee funding. Smart and Skilled and other subsidy eligibility is determined by the NSW Government and the delivering provider, not by us.
- We cannot guarantee employment or income. Salary figures shown on this website are indicative ranges for the roles described. They are drawn from general market information, vary with employer, location, experience and shift pattern, and are provided for planning purposes only. They are not a representation of what you will earn.
- We do not provide migration advice. Only a registered migration agent or Australian legal practitioner may do so. Where a qualification relates to a visa outcome, seek that advice separately.
- We do not provide legal or financial advice.
4. Accuracy of information
We take care to keep the information on this website accurate, but course codes, units, eligibility rules, funding arrangements and licensing requirements are set by third parties and change without notice to us. Verify course codes at training.gov.au and licensing requirements with the relevant regulator before relying on them.
Information on this website is general in nature and does not take account of your individual circumstances. Your free pathway session exists precisely so that advice can be tailored to them.
5. Your responsibilities
When engaging our services, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information about your work history, qualifications and circumstances.
- Provide genuine evidence documents. Submitting falsified evidence to an RTO is fraud, and we will cease acting for you immediately if we become aware of it.
- Meet the enrolment, assessment and payment requirements of the RTO you are referred to.
- Respond to reasonable requests for information within reasonable timeframes.
- Comply with the RTO's policies, including their student code of conduct.
6. Fees
Our services are provided to you at no direct charge. CME is remunerated by way of commission from the delivering RTO under our agreement with that provider. Should any fee ever become payable by you, it would be disclosed and agreed in writing before any work commenced.
Course, assessment and enrolment fees are set and charged by the delivering RTO under their own terms, including their refund policy. CME does not set those fees. Where we compare options for you, any indication of cost is an estimate based on information available at the time and is subject to confirmation in writing by the delivering RTO.
Deposits
Where a course is booked through us, a deposit of 20% of the course cost is payable to register and secure your place. The balance falls due before the course commences unless a written instalment arrangement has been agreed beforehand.
7. Cancellations and refunds
Cancellation must be made in writing, and the charge depends on how much notice we receive. More than 7 days before commencement, an administration fee of 10% of the course cost or $350.00, whichever is greater applies. With 7 days notice or less the deposit is forfeited, and once a course has commenced no refund is payable.
The full terms, including worked examples, what happens if we cancel, and how quickly refunds are paid, are set out in our Cancellation & Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms and of your enrolment agreement.
8. Third-party providers
Where we refer you to a partner RTO, your contract for training and assessment is with that RTO, not with us. Their terms, fees, refund policy, complaints process and privacy policy apply to that relationship. We are not liable for the acts or omissions of any third-party provider, although we will advocate on your behalf where an issue arises.
9. Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 to the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)) that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law, including that they will be provided with due care and skill. To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any breach of a guarantee that can be limited is limited to resupplying the services or paying the cost of having them resupplied.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, and subject to section 9, CME is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of income or opportunity, or loss arising from decisions of an RTO, regulator or government body.
11. Intellectual property
The content, design, written copy and structure of this website are owned by Certification Made Easy unless otherwise stated. “The CME Pathway Method” is a mark used by Certification Made Easy. 16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always the one published on this page, with the “last updated” date shown at the top.
