Course overview
Information technology is one of the few well-paid Australian industries you can still enter without a degree, provided you can demonstrate capability. The Certificate III in Information Technology is the credential that opens help desk and support roles — and help desk is where the overwhelming majority of IT careers actually begin.
The qualification builds the fundamentals properly: hardware and operating systems, networking basics, cloud concepts, cybersecurity awareness, and structured troubleshooting. Just as importantly, it covers the customer service side, because technical support is a communication job wearing a technical costume. The people who get promoted out of help desk quickly are the ones who can explain a problem to a frustrated non-technical user.
It is well suited to people who have been the informal tech person — fixing computers for family, running the systems at a small business, self-taught and capable but unable to prove it on paper. That gap between demonstrated ability and documented ability is exactly what this qualification closes.

Is this you?
Self-taught technical people who need the credential, career changers entering IT, school leavers wanting a fast route into tech, and small business operators formalising IT skills.
Not sure you fit? Ring anyway. The most common thing Mahmoud hears is “I probably do not qualify” from someone who does. The session costs nothing and the answer is honest either way.
The CME Pathway Method
We map your work history and existing tickets against the qualification you need.
A straight answer on which pathway fits — RPL, gap training or full course.
We place you with the partner RTO best suited to your evidence and situation.
We stay with you through the paperwork until the certificate is in your hand.
Questions we get asked
Yes — IT support and operations hire on demonstrated capability far more than on degrees, and a Certificate III plus a genuine willingness to learn is a workable entry. Degrees matter more for software engineering and specialised roles; they matter much less for support, networking and security operations.
If you have no formal IT background, the Certificate III first is the sensible order — Certificate IV in Cyber Security assumes you already understand networking and operating systems. If you already work in IT support, going straight to the Certificate IV is usually the right call.
Not automatically — those are separate vendor and industry certifications with their own exams and fees. The content overlaps meaningfully, so this qualification is good preparation, but do not assume it delivers them. Tell us if industry certifications are your goal and we will factor them into the plan.
Generally yes, and IT is well suited to online delivery. Delivery mode and any on-campus practical components vary by RTO, so we match you to a provider that fits how you actually need to study.
Sometimes, but informal work is harder to evidence than employment. If you have run systems for a business, done paid support work, or built and maintained infrastructure with something to show for it, bring it. If your experience is entirely unpaid and undocumented, studying the qualification is usually faster than trying to prove it.
Important. Certification Made Easy is not a Registered Training Organisation (RTO). We operate solely as a consulting agency, providing advisory and referral services to our clients through our trusted RTO partners.
Course codes, units and any licensing requirements are set by the training package and the relevant regulator, and change over time. Confirm current details with your RTO and, where a licence is involved, with the regulator in your state.
